League One leaders Leyton Orient extended their unbeaten run to 12 games after an emphatic 4-0 win at Tranmere Rovers this afternoon.

The visitors grabbed their opener when Kevin Lisbie finished neatly for his tenth goal of the campaign. The 35-year-old striker doubled his tally after after deflecting in a second-half effort.

Tranmere were reduced to ten men when Ian Goodison conceded a penalty for an altercation with Lisbie. David Mooney found the net but it was chalked off because he scored directly from the rebound, without anyone else touching the ball, after his first shot hit the post.

Orient did not worry and quickly tucked away their third of the game when Cox fired a superb strike into the net in front of the jubilant travelling fans. There was still time for substitute Shaun Batt to net and complete another brilliant win for the league leaders.

The O's named an unchanged side following last weekend's win over MK Dons. Elliot Omozusi and Gary Sawyer were both rated doubtful but the defenders were fit for the trip to Prenton Park.

Orient had an early opportunity to score when the ball fell to Moses Odubajo in the area but he scuffed his shot wide of the target.

The visitors opened the scoring midway through the half following a clinical move. Lloyd James attacked before sending in a pinpoint cross which Lisbie rifled home for his tenth of the season. 

Rovers nearly grabbed a quick equaliser from an unlikely source but Jamie Jones pushed skipper Nathan Clarke's header onto the post.

Tranmere had a decent chance when the ball fell to Jake Kirby but he took it too far and allowed Jones to get down and make the save. 

The O's were still looking a threat and very nearly doubled the lead when Mathieu Baudry's header rebounded back off the bar.

Russell Slade's side had another great chance at the start of the second half when Cox screwed the ball back across the face of goal but none of his team-mates could apply the finish.

Orient made it 2-0 when Cox's shot was neatly deflected into the net by top scorer Lisbie for his second of the match.

It got even worse for Ronnie Moore's side when Goodison was sent off for an altercation off the ball with Lisbie in the penalty area.

Mooney's penalty cannoned off the post but the striker smashed in the rebound. However after a long delay the goal was ruled out because no-one else got a touch on the ball before Mooney netted at the second attempt.

However it did not take long for Slade's side to net their third goal after winger Cox curled a shot past Owain Fon Williams.

The O's were not finished and Batt kept up his superb scoring record from the bench as he tucked a low shot into the corner of the net to seal their tenth league win of the campaign.
