Waltham Abbey sit seventh in the Ryman North Division after they clinched a 5-4 victory in an entertaining contest at Barkingside.
Paul Wickenden’s men fell behind in the fifth minute as Toran Senghore netted but the home side’s lead lasted just 60 seconds before Loran Maxwell struck.
Maxwell then fired Abbey ahead and Joesph Pearman added a third for the visitors. The game was brought level after Andrew Edmunds and Daniel Callaway scored for Barkingside but Thomas Bruno was on target to give Abbey a 4-3 lead at half-time.
The second period was less frantic and James Peagram notched the visitors’ fifth of the game with 22 minutes remaining.
Edmunds scored the home side’s fourth late on but Abbey, who take on Maldon & Tiptree this weekend, held on to secure victory.
