TOTTENHAM have been linked with a sensational £8million summer move for Newcastle United striker Michael Owen.
Owen's current contract on Tyneside runs until the end of next season, and the England frontman's future with the Magpies has been the subject of some uncertainty throughout the season.
This has alerted Spurs boss Juande Ramos, who is keen to add to his already impressive array of attacking talent. With a widespread cull expected to take place at White Hart Lane this summer, Ramos is on the lookout for quality players, and proven goalscorer Owen fits the bill.
With Jermaine Defoe already transferred to Portsmouth, Ramos may also look to offload out-of-favour striker Darren Bent to fund an approach for the 28-year-old ex-Real Madrid star.
Toon boss Kevin Keegan is desperate to tie up a new deal for Owen, but the offer of a new contract has yet to be discussed, leaving the door ajar for Ramos to pounce.
