CESC FABREGAS earmarked his compatriot Fernando Torres as Liverpool's main weapon when the Reds travel to the Emirates tomorrow night for the first leg of the Champions' League quarter-final.
Fabregas knows all too well what the Spanish striker is capable of as the pair are regulars for the national side, and the young midfielder is not surprised at how quickly Torres has adapted to the pace of the premier league, with 28 goals to his name already in his first season.
"This style of football fits him like a glove," said Fabregas. "He is strong, quick, powerful, he can finish and, above all, he knows how to create space for himself, which is fundamental here."
The duo are good friends off the pitch, but Fabregas will be determined to keep his mate quiet when the pair come face to face on Wednesday.
"We will be rivals during these three games but we are good friends. In the Spain squad there have been a few jokes.
"Torres says that he is going to score against us, but I prefer to keep quiet and do my talking on the pitch."
Indeed, Liverpool's hitman has every right to be confident ahead of tomorrow's match, having bagged four goals in his last four European games, and he is eyeing a fifth in five to give his side the advantage in the return leg at Anfield next week.
"The first game at the Emirates will be very difficult," said Torres. "The most important thing is to score - if we score it is very good for the Anfield game but Arsenal play very well and it is very difficult to win."
