ARSENE WENGER is looking forward to an enthralling match against Liverpool this evening.

The Arsenal boss believes both sides' fluency will combine to produce a great spectacle, as encounters between the two teams have demonstrated in the past.

"We go for it and that gives the other team a response, always," insists Wenger.

"Against us, Liverpool have always had good and pacy games.Arsenal versus Liverpool have always been good games. Maybe it'll change, we'll see, but I'm not convinced.

"I would say it will be a British-style Champions League game for one very good reason - it is a knockout."

Wenger has moulded Arsenal into a well-oiled pass-and-move machine, with fluid passing moves a trademark of the Frenchman's style, and he hopes that the game against Liverpool will be allowed to flow to benefit both teams.

"That (the referee) will make it a bit different," noted Wenger. "The continental referees are more interventionist so sometimes the fluency of the British game can go a bit.

"But I don't mind who the referee is - I never spend much time before games thinking about who is the referee. I have no influence on that."
