ORIENT boss Martin Ling is looking to turn the table upside down this weekend when his side take on the league leaders.

The O’s travel to the Walkers Stadium on Saturday, where Leicester City await them with the hottest form in League One.

The Foxes are unbeaten in 12 matches and no other team in the division has gone longer without tasting defeat.

It is a record that has put Nigel Pearson’s side three points clear at the top of the table.

In contrast, Orient have waited longest of all for a league win, five matches.

So Ling and his team look like they will need all the craft and guile they can muster to outfox the craftiest team in the league.

Talking ahead of the clash, Ling said: ”It’s a difficult game, and if you’re a betting man you would probably put your money on Leicester.

“Their form is good and our form is poor, but players can rise to the big occasion. We’ll certainly go there with an attitude that we can win the game.

We just to have raise our level from where we were in December.”

Ahead of the match, he summoned the spirit of two seasons ago, when a smarting Orient side, freshly expelled from the FA Cup by lowly Torquay United, travelled to take on Nottingham Forest.

That 2006 Christmas period was a tough time for the O’s, but Ling’s team produced a sterling display at the City Ground and ended it 3-1 victors.

He said: “I look at parallels to two seasons ago with the game against Nottingham Forest when we were in a bit of trouble. It shows what can be done.

“We have to set our stall up to be defensive and then we’ll want to get into the game and take over.

We don’t go there with a special plan for Leicester, we go there with a plan to impose ourselves upon them.”

To do that, his defenders will need to neutralise live-wire Leicester striker Matt Fryatt, if he plays.

Eighteen-goal Fryatt is joint top scorer in League One, but was injured on Saturday against Crystal Palace.

The game ended goalless, and he remains a doubt.

“We know all about Fryatt,” said Ling.

“If he does play we may have to defend a little deeper than we like to, because he’s sharp getting in behind defences.”

The game against Leicester will be the first since Saturday’s postponed FA Cup third round match against Sheffield United, due to a frozen pitch.

Danny Granville is doubtful for Saturday, while Wayne Gray is out with a long-term knee injury.

Sean Thornton also misses the trip to Leicester City through suspension, but is available for Tuesday’s cup tie.
