Martin Ling admitted his Orient team were out-classed by Leicester on Saturday.

Talking after the game at the Walkers Stadium, Ling said: “We had to play to our full potential and above it to win the game today and we didn't.

“Two first half two mistakes cost us and I told the lads at half time that our ball retention was nowhere near good enough.

“We didn't want to come here and be demoralised by a real thumping. It wasn't quite that, but Leicester always felt they had enough in hand to win the game.

“We needed to hold them at nil-nil for as long as we could and maybe get our noses in front if we are going to come to place like this and get a result. But we didn't manage either.

“Two mistakes cost us. One from Charlie Daniels, who I thought was excellent all game, and then Glen Morris, who probably should have stayed on his line for the second goal.

From then on it was always an up-hill struggle.”

Orient could not do damage to the hosts in the second half.

“We picked up a head of steam in the second half” said Ling “and we were a bit better with ball retention and penetration, but not enough to worry a side like Leiceser.

“We were thoroughly beaten.”

Ling stated that Orient's League One fate will not be decided by results against League One high-flyers, he stated.

“Our destiny is not going to judged by Leicester away. There are bigger games against teams in and around us where we will be judged.”
