FORMER Orient players are among the leading contenders to secure the job in the hot-seat at Brisbane Road.

Alex Inglethorpe and John Still both feature in the list drawn up by Victor Chandlers.

Orient chairman Barry Hearn dismissed Martin Ling from his managerial post on Sunday. Assistant boss Dean Smith went too, after the O's threw away a lead and lost against Bristol Rovers.

Now the race for a replacement is hotting up. At this erly stage, the race is headed by Laurie Sanchez, who is 5/2 favourite.

Ex-Norwich boss Glenn Roeder is next at 5/1.

Temporary O’s manager Kevin Nugent is third favourite.

Former Orient servant Inglethorpe is 6/1. He used to play in midfield or up front for the O’s and today is a coach at Tottenham Hotspur.

Dagenham and Redbridge gaffer John Still is 9/1 to get the job as Orient manager Victor Chandlers spokesman said: “This job will appeal to a lot of people, because the club historically like to give their managers time to build a team. “It’s a great club and we expect there will be plenty of candidates willing to put their name in the hat.”
