It's a time of big ups and downs at the moment. Hereford was a big shock for us, but Brighton is set to be a totally different game.

I think it could be a slightly harder game than even Peterborough, because they're fighting for their lives. Sometimes, when you're up at the top, I think you can sometimes get a bit lacklustre and start to think you will win games easily.

In this scrap we're in, you worry about the possibilities of going down, so it's a different mindset.

But it's part and parcel of football. The good thing about it is that there is always a training session the next day, so you can put bad results behind you. The training has gone well this week, and everyone's buzzing.

The gaffer always puts the positive into the negative, that's what he did after the Hereford game.

We seemed to lose that one in the first 15 minutes because I don't think our keeper had a shot to save after that. Tam scored but we couldn't do more. I thought we battered them, it was a one-way game in our favour. We were unlucky not to come away with more than that. We just weren't clinical enough on the day.

But I don't think its affecting the boys. We're very confident that we have the side to make sure we don't go down.

I'll say it again, that there is no doubt in my mind that we are not going down.

Luckily, we've got a lot of experience in the side and there's good banter too. The likes of Paul Terry are so good at it. He comes in with a smile and it lifts the team. It recoups the spirit and helps get everyone going.

If we can keep the run of form we had before last Saturday going, then we'll be fine.

The team spirit has been growing massively of late and the team is settling in It's been an unsettled sort of year so far, with a manager leaving and a new boss coming in.

But I think we have a good balance in the side.

We could do with some extra pace. But I do think we've got enough in the squad to beat anyone.

The 2006-07 season was tough and the experience showed how important it is to keep focused. We're concentrating on the job in hand and keeping level-headed.
