DAGENHAM'S on-loan winger Matt Ritchie is looking forward to heading back to the south coast after being offered a new two-year deal by his parent club Portsmouth, following an impressive season with the Daggers.
The 19-year-old left-sided player has made his mark at Victoria Road with 12 goals this season, helping Dagenham to the cusp of the play-off places.
But while he has made plenty of friends at his adopted home, he is focused on doing his best for Pompey when he returns to Fratton Park next year.
"It's been a fantastic year for me," Ritchie told The News. "I couldn't have predicted it would go as well as this.
"Obviously I wanted to play first-team football somewhere and Dagenham & Redbridge has proven to be the right club.
"My main goal, though, is to play for Pompey. They are the team I support and that is my dream. Whatever it takes to achieve that I'll do it.
"I've been offered a two-year deal now and I want to sign it because I see my future here.
"Hopefully I can get noticed. Of course I haven't made it yet, I realise that."
