EPPING Foresters won their third game in a row after they defeated champions Newport.
The Mill Plain club won the toss and elected to field first and restricted their opponents to 188 all out after some fine bowling from Ricky Ellis (5 for 50) and was ably backed up by Rob Peachey, Luke and Scott Wilks and Steve Poole.
With the bat Rob Petchey knocked up a quick 62. Andrew French, who hit a patient maiden half century, (82) and Jack Hazelton (36) piled on the runs to help Forresters cruise to victory with 194 for 2, with 15 overs to spare.
The Forresters will be in action again next Sunday (June 14) when they take on Langley at home.
They currently lie fourth in the Herts and Essex Cricket League Division One.
