DAGENHAM will head to Wales when they face Championship Cardiff City in the Carling Cup first round.
This is the second time in the last two seasons that the Daggers have faced Championship opposition in the opening tie of the competition - they were beaten 2-1 by Reading at Victoria Road last term.
Speaking ahead of today's (Tuesday) draw John Still, Dagenham manager, said: "I want the best draw for the club. Ideally we would like a top side but I am sure whoever we get will it will be a great game."
The match will take place the week beginning August 10.
