GILLINGHAM are preparing a £150,000 offer for Dagenham and Redbridge's star striker Paul Benson, according to reports.
The Sun claims the Gills are ready to swoop for the forward, who has scored 60 goals for the Daggers in 140 games.
Benson remained as one of League Two's top scorers last season, despite being forced to sit out two months with a knee injury.
Daggers' boss John Still has already lost three key players from last year's promotion assault, after striker Ben Strevens, winger Sam Saunders and defender Danny Foster completed moves across London to Brentford, who were promoted to League One as champions.
