DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE had to wait until the 89th minute before finding a way past Braintree Town on Monday night.
Tommy Tejan-Sie grabbed the late winner, after Wesley Thomas had given the Daggers an early lead with his third goal of the pre-season campaign.
The 22-year-old striker carried the ball towards the edge of the box, cut inside and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the net.
Braintree levelled seven minutes from time as Chris Lewington was beaten by a turn-and-shot on the six yard box. But it was the visitors who had the last laugh when Tejan-Sie managed to get on the end of a miscued effort from Harlee Dean.
