DAGENHAM and Redbridge were unable to continue their sizzling start to the season at Notts County.
The Daggers lost for the first time this season in the league when they were beaten 3-0 - the result means they slip to second in League Two.
The Daggers had trounced Torquay 5-3 and Shrewsbury 5-0 at Victoria Road sending them top.
But goals from Lee Hughes, Karl Hawley and Johnnie Jackson handed the points to the moneybags Magpies, who have former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson as director of football.
County struck twice shortly before half-time.
Hughes opened the scoring with a header after 41 minutes and moments later Hawley added a second with a strike into the bottom left hand corner.
With thirty minutes left Jackson compiled Daggers misery by adding a third.
The result means County are the new league leaders while Daggers drop down to second.
