THE FA Cup is laced in a history of giantkilling, shock results and minnows defying the odds.
And Waltham Forest will be aiming to create their own mini cup upset when they travel to Ryman League Premier Division side Boreham Wood on Saturday.
The Hertfordshire-based outfit are a league above Forest, but the visitors will be hoping to continue their undefeated start to the season, which sees them lying seventh in Division One North with a game in hand over the teams above them.
Forest, who drew 1-1 with Harlow Town at the weekend, have now won two and drawn three of their first five league games. They have also beaten Great Wakering Rovers 1-0 at home, in the FA Cup Preliminary Round replay last Wednesday which earned them their trip to Boreham Wood.
Wood will provide tough opposition, after registering three wins in their last three outings and not conceding a goal in the process.
They had lost the previous three and only drawn one before that, though Forest may fear their hosts have hit form in time to spark a solid cup run.
