ORIENT are still in search of a league win after they lost to a determined Stockport County side, in the Mancester outskirts.

Orient went down to two second half goals at Edgeley Park, and did not ever look like winning this game.

A late consolation goal by Tamika Mkandawire proved just to be that.

Orient also lost skipper Stephen Purches, who left the pitch on a stretcher after just seven minutes.

Orient started the game on equal points with Stockport COunty at the wrong end of the League One table.

Now Orient sink further down and have only the prospect of a tough match against Millwall to look forward to next week.

Stockport's Edgeley Park ground was sporting a much improved pitch from last time, it featured grass.

The host's also featured one Carl Baker, who had been scoring for fun.

O's boss Geraint Williams gave starts to Swansea loanee Kristian O'Leary and James Scrowcroft up front alongside Ryan Jarvis.

Stockport started as the more dangerous of the two sides. Liam Bridcutt got his shooting boots on early, on two minutes and four minutes.

Jamie Jones justified his inclusion in the team ahead of Glenn Morris with a great save to deny Carl Baker on 12 minutes. The chance came after Charlie Daniels lost possession at an Orient free kick.

Orient's cause suffered a blow with the removal of captain Stephen Purches. He was knocked out challenging Michael Rose on 7 minutes.

He came round before being stretchered off and replaced by Andrew Cave-Brown.

Stockport had the more assured side in passing but they struggled to convert possession into penetration.

Orient spent more and more time on the back foot in their final third but Ben Chorley, back from injury, and Tamika Mkandawire were solid at the heart of defence.

With O'Leary quiet at the centre of midfield, Jason Demetriou's crosses from the left the left and at dead balls posed most threat.

With half-time looming he whipped a free into the box which was headed across the face of goal by Scowcroft. Mkandawire was there for it but lost it in the mixer of a six yard box.

After looking relatively comfortable in a goalless first half, the O's conceded five mintues after the re-start.

In a tangle with Bignall, Chorley stopped expecting a whistle, but none came. That set Bignall off into Orient's final third, racing past Charlie Daniels, who tumbled. Clear on goal, Bignall slotted his shot past the on-rushing Jamie Jones and put Stockport one goal up.

Chorley was furious with referee Mr Haines and Demetriou hot himself a yellow card soon afterwards for continuing the debate.

Orient laid off Stockport players far to much, playing much too deep. Stockport could play on the edge of the box and try and find openings among the crowd of red shirts.

Backs to the wall, Williams threw on loanee Andros Townsend on 58 minutes. His pace down the left wing added an immediate new dimension.

Scowcroft was denied a penalty on 66 minutes when he was hauled over in a scrum eight yards out.

Jones had to be on his toes with Baker shooting from all angles.

The second goal when it came was too easy for the host's.

Substitute Adrian Patulea, on for Jarvis on 76 minutes, lost possession to MUllians.

He broke up the pitch and laid a ball off to Bridcott. He played in Greg Tansey 25 yards out, who unleashed a daisy-cutter low into the left corner past Jones.

Not one challenge come in from an Orient player during the move.

With four minutes to go, Mkandawire got one back for the visitors. From Demetriou's free kick headed on by Scowcroft, the defender was in the right place on the left corner of the six yard box. He fired low past Owain Foe Williams into the far corner.

Five minutes of stoppage time, Orient poured forwards. Charlie Daniels' header was heading goalward when Paul HUntington cleared it away.

Another frustrating afternoon for Orient.
