DAGENHAM & Redbridge have signed Colchester United left-back Matt Lockwood on a month-long loan deal.
John Still moved for the experienced defender after Scott Griffiths completed his transfer to Peterborough United. The 23-year-old has signed on a loan deal until January, although there is an agreement for a permanent transfer at the end of the spell.
Former Leyton Orient defender Lockwood was drafted straight into the team to face Port Vale at Victoria Road today.
Manager Still told the club's official website: “Matt knows the game very well and has played at the level in the past. He already knows and is friends with a number of our squad already. Matt is an ideal short-term replacement for Scott Griffiths whilst we continue to find a permanent signing.”
