ADAM CHAMBERS is in a race to be fit in time for Saturday’s clash at Swindon.

Orient boss Geraint Williams rued Chambers’ “wretched run” of injuries but backed him to come back again.

Calling the 29 year-old all-action midfielder “a warrior” Williams explained how a training ground tackle by JJ Melligan caused Chambers to twist his ankle.

“He wanted to give it a go (against Gillingham) but we thought if he got another knock on it could be three weeks to a month (out) Williams said.

“Whereas if we rested it against Gillingham, then hopefully he'll have a chance for the weekend.
