Grimsby 1
Dagenham & Redbridge 1
League Two
DAGENHAM & Redbridge dropped to fifth place in League Two despite Jone Nurse rescuing a point at Grimsby on Saturday.
Michael Coulson turn and shot after collecting Nicky Featherstone's cross had put the Mariners ahead with ten minutes of the first half remaining.
The hosts could have doubled the lead but Peter Sweeney's free-kick hit the bar and Adam Miller's head before bouncing clear.
Jon Nurse's header drew the Daggers level, and Paul Benson perhaps should have stolen the points but he hit the bar from close range.
Assistant manager Terry Harris insisted it was a valuable point for his side after their 5-2 demolition by Aldershot in midweek.
“I think it was a point gained,” he told BBC Essex. “This is a very difficult place to come to, we had a bad time Tuesday and I think the first half was a continuation really.
“We did okay and gave a bad goal away, we should have defended better.”
