WHEN Dagenham & Redbridge clash with Rotherham United on Saturday the tie will see two of the sharpest strikers in League Two do battle.
Paul Benson, with 11 goals for the Daggers this season, has not been as un-erring as his rival Adam La Fondre, who has hit 14.
But the presence of each of them on the same pitch at the Don Valley stadium should add up to an entertaining game for fans.
Their eye for goal has helped to lift their teams towards the top of the table.
John Still’s Daggers side were even at the summit not so long ago, but Rotherham have shoved past them after the east London outfit went on a poor run of home form.
Today, the Millers occupy the third and final automatic promotion place, just above Dagenham who sit in fourth.
Benson scored twice last Saturday as Bury were buried under a 3-1 scoreline at Victoria Road, which ended a winless two months at home.
The brace also marked a return to form for the man himself too, because it was six games since Benson had last set the net bulging.
Seth Ofori-Twumasi got the other.
This weekend, midfielder Danny Green could be the key to unlocking the Yorkshire outfit who have proved stingy at home.
He has six assists already this season, and could be aided in the middle of the park by on-loan Adam Miller.
Still has extended the Gillingham man’s spell at Victoria Road by another month.
Rotherham have conceded the fewest number of goals at home in the whole of League Two.
Under boss Ronnie Moore they are also third in the form table, with four wins from six games.
But the Millers have wobbled. Before knocking four past Bradford last weekend, it was three games with no win.
That run included a 3-0 drubbing by non-league Luton, late of League Two, in the FA Cup.
So the stakes are high for both of these sides in this final league game before Christmas.
Will it be a Christmas cracker or a turkey?
