West Ham could face sanctions following the bloody riot which engulfed their FA Cup clash with Millwall, last August.
The club has today been found guilty on two counts by the FA of failing to control its fans.
Millwall FC has escaped blame and so responsibility for the violent chaos lies wholly with the Premier League club, based in Upton Park.
Sixty five people were arrested over the disturbances, during which one man was stabbed.
DCI Richard Tucker, who headed the investigation into the clashes, said: "The level of disorder witnessed that night was absolutely unacceptable and not at all in the spirit of what football matches are all about.”
He blamed the trouble on a hardcore of troublemakers bent on causing violence and destruction.
The FA said: "The independent regulatory commission, chaired by an independent QC, found West Ham United to be in breach of FA rules."
West Ham FC said it will release a statement some time later today.
