DAGENHAM & Redbridge catapulted themselves back into the race for automatic promotion in League Two with a first victory of the new decade over Crewe.
The Daggers climbed from sixth to third place as goals from Josh Scott and Danny Green saw off Crewe.
Green was the provider as the winger swung a cross into the box that Scott was able to glance into the top corner with a header.
Green was later laid on Danny Spiller and he fired home from all of 20 yards.
Tony Roberts had to be on his toes as he pulled off a stunning save from Mat Micheal-King after the break.
Assistant manager Terry Harris told BBC Essex afterwards: "Maybe the enforced lay-off has caused us problems and we are just getting back into the swing of it.
"I thought our back four were good and there were things that weren't right, but I'm pleased we got the three points."
