DAGENHAM & Redbridge skipper Mark Arber has told his team-mates they can go on and become 'legends' of the club after they secured their place at Wembley for the final of the League Two play-offs.
The Daggers won 7-2 on aggregate against Morecambe over the two legs, a 6-0 demolition at Victoria Road doing the damage before a 2-1 reverse in the second leg at Christie Park tonight.
The result means the Daggers meet Rotherham at Wembley for a place in League One next season, and Arber is convinced his team can do the business.
“We have a chance to become legends for this club,” he said after the game. “There are no bigtime Charlies in this team, we're all in it together.
“Rotherham are a good team that have beaten us twice but we'll go there and try to win. It's a one off game so anything can happen.
“It's the biggest game in the club's history. It's an incredible achievement.
“At 32 these chances don't come around too often so I need to make the most of it.”
On the night, Paul Benson cancelled out Mark Duffy's opener in the 86th minute but a stoppage time header from David Artell ensured Morecambe ended their time at Christie Park with a memorable win.
Dagenham will now face Rotherham at Wembley on Sunday, May 30.
