WALTHAM ABBEY boss Glen Alzapiedi has quit as boss of Waltham Abbey FC.
Alzapiedi resigned from the position yesterday (Sunday) after discussions with chairman Joe Collins over the weekend.
The exit of Alzapiedi comes as a surprise.
Both the club and Alzapiedi had been confident he would remain in place at Capershotts.
Abbey were relegated from the Ryman Premier division, earlier this month.
Now the race is on to appoint a manager in time for pre-season friendlies from July.
Abbey host St Alban’s City at Capershotts on July 27.
Then they travel to play Takely on July 31.
After that, Bishop Stortford come to Capershotts on August 3.
Then Aveley arrive on August 10, before Abbey kick off in Ryman division one north.
