Leyton FC have been saved from relegation out of Ryman one north.
The troubled club in Lea Bridge Road finished last season inside the drop zone, but now can plan for another season in the division.
The Football Association and the Isthmian league together have granted a reprieve.
That is because a vacancy has a arisen in a neighbouring division.
Vacancies arise when a club folds, merges with another club, or is thrown out by the governing body.
An FA spokesman said Leyton’s relatively good points-per-game ratio last season helped seal their survival.
Leyton’s salvation comes with the expulsion of VCD Athletic from the same division.
The mid-table club has been ejected on a technicality which it is understood to be furious about.
