DAGENHAM & Redbridge boss John Still hailed the club’s dramatic 3-2 League Two play-off final victory over Rotherham as a ‘fairy story’.
Goals from Paul Benson, Danny Green and Jon Nurse guaranteed the Daggers League One football next season.
Still, who celebrated with his players and in front of the 13,000 Dagenham fans who made the trip to Wembley after the thrilling match, admitted it was an incredible achievement.
“It’s down to everybody working really hard. It is amazing what can be achieved when no one is looking to take the credit,” he told the BBC afterwards.
“For this club it is a fairy story and we have turned another page.”
Rotherham had come back to level twice, but Dagenham held on after Nurse had bagged their third 20 minutes from time.
