DAGENHAM & Redbridge boss John Still has wasted no time in strengthening his squad ahead of next season by recruiting midfielder Stewart Lewis from Gillingham and left-back Gareth Gwillim from non-league Histon.
Lewis joins from the Gills - who swapped places in League One with Dagenham last season - on a three-year deal, while Gwillim arrives after penning a two-year contract.
The Daggers defeated Rotherham 3-2 in a thrilling League Two play-off final encounter at Wembley on Sunday to book their place in English football's third tier next season.
Lewis and Gwillim join Danny Green and Alex Osborn, from Billericay and Grays respectively, at Victoria Road, with the latter pair arriving last month.
However, Still has also wielded the axe, opting not to extend the contracts of Mark Nwokeji, Alex Bentley and Hakeem Araba, while striker Wesley Thomas and midfielder Harlee Dean have been placed on the transfer list.
Goalkeeper Tony Roberts has signed a one-year extension to his contract which also contains an option of a further year, while back-up keeper Chris Lewington has also signed a two-year deal.
Lewis, 22, played at youth level for Arsenal and Norwich City and also represented England at under-16 and U17 level. He moved to Tottenham and forced his way into the reserves set-up, beofre signing for Barnet in 2007. After a stint at Stevenage Borough he joined Gillingham and was part of the team's 2009 League Two play-off winning side.
Twenty-seven-year-old Gwillim began his career at Crystal Palace but spent four years at Bishop's Stortford. He joined Histon in the summer of 2007 and went on to make 133 appearances for the Conference club.
