Waltham Forest FC fielded a team which was a combination of first team probables and trailists, in a 3-1 friendly win over Essex Senior league side, Sawbridgeworth.
The match proved a useful work out for Forest manager Tony Mercer, as he starts to shape the squad he requires for the new campaign.
There were several more than useful performances from some of the new faces on show looking to impress the manager.
"While nothing too significant can be read into results of pre-season games, it does seem as if things are moving in the right direction on the field of play, as well as off it," said a club spokesman.
