CHINGFORD Athletic secured the point they needed to take the Ilford and District Premier League crown for the first time in their history and gain promotion to the Essex Olympian League.
Needing at least a point to erase any opportunity for Supreme Athletic to catch them, they took an early lead with Michael Mignot scoring and looked on course.
However, two goals early in the second half from Supreme put a spanner in the works and the title race looked on once more.
However, with seconds remaining, Supreme conceded a penalty, with Lee Bowers scoring the goal that secured the 2-2 draw at the club's Wadham Lodge home, sparking champagne celebrations. Chingford now will look forward to Essex Olympian League football next season
