A GLUT of goals saw Waltham Abbey sink Waltham Forest, and enrage boss Paul Wickenden in the process.
Wickenden’s young guns dominated the match last weekend, leading 5-2 at half time.
But then complacency led to the tyros being almost sunk, before scraping to a 5-4 win.
The boss demanded more discipline during the visit to promotion-chasing Needham Market, on Saturday.
“It was pure stupidity,” rapped Wickenden to Guardian Series Sport.
“The players were saying how many they would score in the second half. I was really disappointed that they were talking like that.
“Then we completely collapsed and it had 5-5 written all over it.
“It was sloppiness and lack of care to blame. It felt like a defeat and it shows we cannot get ahead of ourselves.”
A target set by the manager has identified three wins from three remaining games for the Abbotts.
