THERE was disappointment for boss Paul Wickenden last weekend, as Waltham Abbey missed out on a top 10 finish.
The Ryman one north campaign drew to a close with Abbey stuck in 11th place, just one spot away from the target set by their manager.
A 2-2 draw with Redbridge last weekend was never going to be enough for the Abbotts to overhaul Gray’s Athletic, who sealed the position.
The hosts failed to get going against a technically poor Redbridge side, and were even trailing at half time.
Steve Cawley levelled proceedings from the penalty spot early in the second half. But the three points were not sealed until late on, by Emmanual Osie’s last-gasp goal.
