A Mark Arber penalty was enough to secure Dagenham and Redbridge a victory against Paulo Di Canio’s Swindon Town.
The Daggers will be happy with their victory especially as they had just the one shot on target during the game.
Swindon played well and Raffaele De Vita came close to opening the scoring, forcing a finger-tip stop from Dagenham keeper Chris Lewington.
The visitors were then denied a sport kick of their own when Scott Doe appeared to trip De Vita but the referee shook his head.
The Daggers did threaten, Brian Woodall broke through the town defence but could only send his shot wide of Swindon keeper Phil Smith’s post.
With Town having more of the chances Gavin Tomlin burst into the Swindon box only to be tripped by Paul Caddis.
The Daggers were awarded the spot kick which was duly converted by Arber and Dagenham held out for a slightly fortuitous victory.
