West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has warned his side they cannot afford to slip up against Leeds United tomorrow.
The Hammers were beaten in their opener at home by Cardiff and Allardyce knows the importance of getting a win in front of their own fans.
Allardyce said: "To slip up again now against Leeds United, after we slipped up against Cardiff, is something that we do not want to do.
“We will have to approach that game in a different way because we won’t be the team playing away from home.
"Leeds will be and they’ll want to make things tight for us and awkward for us as Cardiff did. We fell asleep in the last minute and got nothing so we’ve really got to work on being patient and as skillful and clinical as we were tonight.
"If we can do that against Leeds then we’re going to cause them lots of problems. But don’t over extend your attacking situations and leave the back door open as we did against Cardiff."
James Tomkins is hopeful of being fit for the televised game after he was taken off with a slight hamstring injury during the 4-0 win at Watford on Tuesday night.
George McCartney and John Carew have yet to feature since signing for the club and could be in contention for a place in the squad.
