A Jon Nurse strike was enough for Dagenham and Redbridge to record a 1-0 away victory against Bradford City.
Nurse grabbed his first goal of the new campaign midway through the first half after tapping home the rebound from a Sam Williams shot.
Daggers boss John Still made two changes to his side after the midweek game against Swindon Town. Sam Williams and Abu Ogogo replacing Brian Woodall and Richard Rose.
Dagenham settled into the game quickly and Nurse soon had an opportunity to open the scoring but could only send a header wide before Oliver Lee fired over from distance.
Medy Elito was proving a constant threat down the left flank and created a chance for Williams to get his name on the score sheet, but the striker saw his shot well saved.
With the Daggers providing all the pressure they opened the scoring just before the half hour, as Williams sent a low shot towards goal, City keeper Martin Hansen pushed the ball away, but Nurse was on hand to tap home.
Bradford reacted after the break and started quickly as they looked for an equaliser.
Ritchie Jones coming close early in the second period with a looping shot that went over Chris Lewington’s crossbar.
Williams then had a great chance to double the Daggers’ lead as he raced onto a long ball but could not beat Hansen in a one-on-one situation.
The game then boiled over as both sides became involved in a spat inside the away penalty area.
Referee Dan Webb did his best to defuse the situation as he brandished four yellow cards but the altercation had only served to fire up the home support.
Despite late pressure from Bradford the Daggers managed to hold on to their slender advantage and recorded back-to-back victories for the first time in two years.
Attendance; 9, 594 (100)
