Orient midfielder Leon McSweeney insists he is ready for selection following his injury layoff this month.
The Irishman has been sidelined since the opening day defeat to Walsall but came through a behind closed doors friendly on Monday unscathed.
McSweeney completed the full 90 minutes for the O’s and says it is down to the manager whether he will be involved with the first team on Saturday.
Speaking of the knee injury, the former Hartlepool midfielder said: “It seems to be on the mend. I played 90 minutes yesterday (Monday) and I come through that unscathed.
“I am available for selection so it is entirely up to the gaffer.”
He added: “As far as I am concerned, I am ready.”
Monday’s friendly with Tottenham saw the O’s defeated 2-1, with former Orient loanee Harry Kane bagging a goal, while Jonathan Téhoué struck for the O’s as he looks to push himself back into Russell Slade’s thinking following his three match suspension.
August has been a frustrating month for McSweeney, managing just the one competitive game so far since his summer arrival but he was philosophical on the setback.
“It is just one of those things really. Injuries are part of the industry,” said the 28-year-old.
“Unfortunately it has kind of been stop start. Hopefully I can push on this week in training.”
The news will be a welcome boost for O’s fans but McSweeney was not alone in getting valuable minutes under his belt on the comeback trail on Monday.
Terrell Forbes played the entire match as well while Marc Laird got 80 minutes as he recovers from a thigh problem.
Forbes has made one substitute appearance so far this season following an operation on his digestive system over the summer.
The former Yeovil defender came on during extra time for Dean Cox in the Carling Cup success at Southend and has been an unused substitute in the three league games since.
Laird got his first taste of competitive action for the O’s on Saturday when he replaced Michael Richardson in the second half.
All three will now look to break back into the side for the weekend’s clash with Carlisle.
