Jeanette Kwakye was unable to reach the women’s 100m final at the World Championships in Daegu, South Korea.
The Woodford Green with Essex Ladies sprinter finished sixth in the first of three semi-finals, crossing the line in 11.48 secs.
That time was six tenths of a second slower than Kwakye’s heat time yesterday when she qualified after coming third behind American star Carmelita Jeter.
Despite being disappointed with her semi-final run, the 28-year-old has spent the last three years in the injury wilderness since finishing sixth in the 2008 Beijing Olympics 100m final.
The Waltham Forest athlete will be hoping for better fortunes in the 4x100m relay later this week.
