Dagenham & Redbridge all but secured their League Two status with a 2-1 victory against playoff chasing Gillingham.
A first half strike from Brian Woodall had put the Daggers ahead but that was cancelled out in the second period by Rowan Vine.
But on 73 minutes, a fantastic goal from Dominic Green secured all three points for John Still’s men.
There were two changes to the Dagenham side as Billy Bingham and Josh Parker started in place of Green and John Akinde.
Still’s men created the first real opportunity of the game as Woodall broke free of the defence only to shoot into the side netting.
Chris Lewington then did well to keep the score level as he saved from Chris Whelpdale and Jack Payne.
Seven minutes before the interval the Daggers went ahead.
Good work from Abu Ogogo allowed him space to shoot and the host’s keeper only parried the ball into the path of Woodall. The striker had the easy task of slotting home.
In the second period Dagenham continued to create opportunities and Parker was twice denied by good saves.
But, somewhat against the run of play, Gillingham levelled. A long ball forward found Vine and he collected the ball before firing past Lewington.
The Gills pushed forward looking to take the lead and only a good save denied Whelpdale.
However, the game would be settled by a fine goal from Green. After being introduced as a substitute he cut in from the right, skipped past two defenders and smashed in from the edge of the area.
It proved enough for the Daggers who now sit nine points above the drop zone with only four games remaining.
