East London Runner Thomas Grimes made the journey to Stratford to compete at the 2012 Olympic Stadium.
Grimes took to the track to compete in the BUCS 10,000m and made it to the final after performing well in the heats.
In the ‘B’ final he ran well and came home in sixth place, setting a new personal best time over the distance of 34.38.
Meanwhile, Dan Spinks and Jamie Xavier were in action at the Regents Park 10k. There wasn’t much to separate both runners as Spinks finished 65th in 41.53 and Xavier set a time of 42.08 to place 70th.
Matthew Jones was the sole East London representative at the Valentines Park parkrun. He came home in 40th, recording a time of 24.55.
Six runners were in action at the Wanstead Flats parkrun and there was a first place finish for Aaron Williams who crossed the line in 18.49.
Next home for East London was Derek Wright in sixth. He clocked a time of 20.35 and finished two places above Spinks (21.09).
It was the first parkrun for Ashley Sarangi, who completed the course in 21.47 to come home in ninth place.
George Georgiou (22.17) was 12th while David Wyatt (25.40) finished in 27th.
