Jake Livermore looks set to start in the left side of defence against Fulham for the climax of Tottenham’s rollercoaster season.

Harry Redknapp has been left without a recognised left back with Danny Rose suspended after his red card last week and Benoit Assou-Ekotto out with a dislocated shoulder.

Spurs know three points will guarantee them at least fourth place, though Champions league football would not be a certainty with Chelsea looking to win the competition in next week’s final.

Should the Blues be victorious in Munich, they would automatically qualify for next year’s competition meaning the team in the fourth league place would be relegated to the Europa League.

That scenario will be secondary to Spurs’ thoughts today though as they know that, should Arsenal slip up at West Bromwich Albion, third place could also be up for grabs.

Other than the forced change at left back, Redknapp has gone with the same team that drew 1-1 with Aston Villa last weekend.

Rafael Van der Vaart will support Emmanuel Adebayor up front, while Redknapp will be hoping Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon on the wings will provide enough service to the front men.

Sandro and Luka Modric start in central midfield with Parker failing to recover from an Achilles problem for the last game of the season.

As well as looking ahead, Spurs will be wary of Newcastle who sit a point behind them in fifth going in today’s game.

Any slip-up could see the side from N17 overtaken by Alan Pardew’s side who are making a late surge towards the top four.
