Steven Gerrard has been named as England captain by Roy Hodgson, despite Scott Parker being included in the 23-man squad.
Parker skippered the side during the friendly against the Netherlands but Liverpool midfielder Gerrard will take the armband for Euro 2012 next month.
Parker has been included in the squad despite concerns over an Achilles injury but it will be Gerrard who leads England out for the tournament, reclaiming the honour having been named captain for the World Cup two years ago in South Africa.
