South Woodford eased to an emphatic eight-wicket win over Ardleigh Green in the Essex Premier Division.
After winning the toss, they decided to bowl first and a strong performance skittled out their opponents for 147 at Central Park. The wickets were shared around with Shaun Gymer returning the best figures of two for 17 while Pratik Acharya. Bradley Copper and Nick Browne each picked up two apiece.
In reply, South Woodford had no problems chasing down the target. Opener Browne was in fine form as his knock of 52 set them on the way. Harry Neicho hit 13 while unbeaten stands of 25 from Hassan Maliq and 20 from Joe Craddock sealed the win.
Woodford Wells crumbled to a ten-wicket thrashing at the hands of Colchester and East Essex.
Wells opted to bat first but it could not have gone any worse for them as they were all out for a woeful 24. Nicholas Sims scored five and Mohammed Fahad managed seven but nine wickets from the unstoppable Gareth Fisher destroyed them.
Woodford Wells were unable to make any impression with the ball and Colchester only needed 4.1 overs to secure a horribly one-sided win.
Fives and Heronians slumped to a 120-run defeat to Hainault and Clayhall in Division One.
After winning the toss, Fives opted to bowl but the decision backfired as their opponents ran up an impressive total of 332 for six. The bowlers struggled to get going with only single wickets for Greg Summers, Pete Kilpatrick, Rahul Bhome and Terry Ballard.
Gary Edwards opened with 44 and Ballard also contributed 44 but Fives and Heronians found the target too much as they were all out for 212 in 45.3 overs.
Loughton earned a seven-wicket victory over Southend on Sea & EMT.
The side managed to bowl out Southend for 221 after three wickets apiece from Salim Akbar and Bilal Butt.
Loughton's innings was superbly led by Faisal Shah who struck 66 off 58 balls. Farid Butt hit 34 and there were unbeaten knocks from Hafiz Yawar Afzal (59) and Amar Nico Akhtar (42) as they reached the target for the loss of three wickets.
Chingford earned a two-wicket win at Upminster.
In Division Three, Old Parkonians picked up a 54-run home win over West Essex.
Out into bat, Parkonians scored a total of 268 for nine. Opener Hermes Solomonidies struck 60, Rizwan Sadiq hit 64 and James Foley was unbeaten on 56 for the hosts.
West Essex replied with 214 for nine as Irfan Riaz top scored with 49. Ejaz Khan returned with figures of three for 20.
Woodford Green lost to Billericay by nine wickets.
Iqbal Patel hit 37 as Woodford were all out for 120. This was never going to be enough as Billericay cruised to the lowly target.
