With less than 100 days until the start of the Paralympic Games, nine time gold medallist Chris Holmes visited Davenant Foundation School to witness how pupils have been inspired by the games.

The school is part of Get Set, London 2012’s education programme which aims to involve children and young people in the excitement and inspiration of the Games.

Holmes, London 2012 Director of Paralympic Integration, spoke about his experience as a Paralympic athlete, the impact it has on his life and how London 2012 is hoping the Games will help change society’s views of disabled people.

“It’s been fantastic being here today at Davenant Foundation School and hearing for myself how students have been inspired by the London 2012 Paralympic Games,” said Holmes.

“I hope as many of them as possible take the chance of tickets going back on sale to make sure they are part of this once in a lifetime opportunity to be there as the Games come home.”
