Dagenham & Redbridge striker Gavin Tomlin is attracting interest from League Two play-off losers Southend United.
The 29-year-old spent the last five months of last season on loan at Gillingham and impressed, netting six goals in nine starts for the Kent club.
The Shrimpers contemplated making a move for Tomlin in January before he agreed to join the Gills.
However, Southend manager Paul Sturrock is keen to reignite his interest in the striker who looks set to leave Victoria Road this summer.
“Gavin is someone who has interested the club before and he’s certainly someone who is being spoken about again now,” Sturrock told the Echo.
“He can play on the wing or up front and did well when he went on loan to Gillingham last season.
“During that spell he scored a great goal against Southend and really showed what he is capable of doing.
“Talks have taken place between Gavin and the club but they are only at a tentative stage.”
