Buckhurst Hill earned a six-wicket victory over Woodford Wells in the Essex Premier Division.
After winning the toss, Buckhurst Hill chose to bowl. Rob Petchey ripped through Wells' top order leaving them in big trouble on 56 for four. Wells' middle order showed some resistance with Maxwell Creesey (43) and skipper Rory Ellison (25) and recovered to 92 for four.
Once again Hill spinners came to the party with Todd Astle taking two wickets and Carlos Remy taking one which halted Wells' recovery as they were dismissed for 152.
Rob Petchey returned for a second spell and took a further two wickets, completing his best ever bowling performance for Hill with six for 53.
Hill looked in trouble in reply, when they found themselves on 15 for three. Ed Buxton and Josh Peters steadied matters, putting on 65 for the fourth wicket, before the former was caught hooking.
Josh Peters saw Hill home with a stunning 79 not out, including nine fours and two sixes and he was well assisted by Raymond Parkinson (27 not out) to seal a six-wicket victory over their local rivals.
The victory moves Hill to fourth in the table while Wells languish in the relegation zone.
Wanstead and Snaresbrook thrashed South Woodford by ten wickets.
After being put into bat, Woodford were dismissed for 136 with Pratik Acharya posting 41. Maurice Chambers picked up four for 40.
Wanstead had no problems cruising to the target with John Chambers (53 not out) and Arfan Akram (74 not out) guiding them to the win.
Chingford drew with Hainault & Clayhall in Division One.
The side posted a total of 202 for five but in response Hainault finished up well short on 70 for six after 29 overs.
Buckhurst Hill Fourths beat Old Southendian and Southchurch in the Fourths Division Two.
Southend batted first and were all out for 129. Ash Mohammed did the damage and was unplayable taking five for 23. Spin twin Phil Mitchell bowled eight overs taking one for 13 to tie the other end up.
In reply Buckhurst Hill had a little middle order wobble until Shaid Mohammed saw them home with an unbeaten 50.
