Dagenham & Redbridge have completed the signing of former Arsenal youngster Gavin Hoyte.
The 22-year-old becomes John Still's first signing of the summer and has agreed a two-year deal.
The defender, who was released by the Gunners earlier this summer, has experience in League Two after a brief spell on loan at AFC Wimbledon last season.
Speaking to the club website, Still said: "Gavin Hoyte is someone we enquired about last year, he's a young player a bit like Abu (Ogogo) in the sense that he's come out of Arsenal and has come out with good habits.
"He's played Championship football as well as at this level, he's a local lad and the thing that impressed us most of all is that he had four or five options and he chose Dagenham.
"That speaks volumes, he wanted to come, we're happy to have him, we needed another defender and I'm sure that he'll progress in the same way as Abu Ogogo has."
