The fixtures for the upcoming Ryman Division One North campaign have been released and Waltham Forest face a tricky opener at home to Grays Athletic.
The visitors reached the play-offs last season and will provide a stern test for Olawale Ojelabi’s men when they meet on Saturday, August 18.
Forest then face a run of away games, starting at Cheshunt three days later before their meeting with Romford in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup (Saturday, August 25) and a trip to newly-promoted Wroxham (Monday, August 27).
Redbridge visit on Saturday, September 1, while the Christmas period sees the Stags play twice at home.
Ojelabi’s side entertain Waltham Abbey on Boxing Day before welcoming Wroxham on Saturday, December 29. The Stags are away however, on New Year’s Day when Ilford are the hosts.
Easter sees Forest again take on Abbey and Ilford while the season concludes for the Stags at home to Chatham Town on Saturday, April 27.
The club play their second friendly of the pre-season schedule on Saturday when they visit Hatfield Town (3pm kick off).
Abbey will begin their campaign away to Chatham Town.
Paul Wickenden’s side start with an away trip but will be back at Capershotts for their second game of the season three days later when they welcome Ware.
That fixture will prove the first of a number of derby clashes the Abbotts will again face this season with Cheshunt the next to visit on Saturday, October 20.
The return fixtures take place on Saturday, January 26, (Cheshunt) and Tuesday, February 26, (Ware).
Abbey will be away on the final day of the season when they visit Grays.
Redbridge kick off the campaign away at Romford before hosting Heybridge Swifts on Monday, August 27.
The Motormen will be hoping to go one better this season under the management duo of Del Robinson and Steve Portway having just missed out on the play-offs last time around.
Robinson and Portway will take their side to Witham Town on Boxing Day and will hit the road again on Saturday, December 29, when they take on Heybridge again but the club will welcome Brentwood Town to the Oakside on New Year’s Day.
The final day of the season sees the Motormen at home to AFC Sudbury.
