After signing a new contract on Tuesday, Dagenham & Redbridge defender Abu Ogogo has had further good news after being named Daggers captain.
The 22-year-old succeeds Mark Arber who left the club earlier in the summer following the expiration of his contact.
Ogogo told the Daggers website of his pride after being handed the captain’s armband.
He said: "I'm very proud, as I said previously, I'm still young myself but then again I have played a lot of games. I'll try and pass what I know on to the boys as much as I can, and I'm really happy that the Gaffer has made the decision to give me the armband.
"I'm not too much of a screamer and shouter but I can do when needed. I'll be trying to play the best I can and hopefully that will rub off on the boys."
