David Florence is looking forward to sampling the Olympic atmosphere when the canoe slalom event gets underway on Sunday.
The 29-year-old has enjoyed a successful build-up to the Games after scooping three medals in his six World Cup outings this summer.
As well as joining forces with Richard Hounslow in the C2, he will also go in the C1 which begins this weekend.
And Florence is keen to get the competition underway, stating he will remember his time at London 2012 for many years to come.
“Training has been going really well,” he enthused. “When it gets close to a race we look to ease down our training load, so that’s always a bit more enjoyable.
“We’ve trained here since January last year and it’s fantastic. If you could choose anywhere in the world to train it would be here.
“When the stadium is full on race day it’s going to be a very impressive venue. I don’t quite know what the noise will be like but I hope it will be pretty rowdy.
“I’m just looking forward to getting the racing underway and enjoying myself, it’s going to be something that I will remember and cherish for the rest of my life.”
