Britain's Lizzie Neave will be looking to add to Team GB's medal haul today when she competes in the women's kayak slalom.
The 25-year-old, from Stone in Staffordshire, who lives in Highams Park, showed impressive form in the heats to finish second in a field of 21, and will be hoping to make it through her semi-final, which starts at 2.12pm.
After a disappointing couple of days in the canoe slalom, where both David Florence and Richard Hounslow blew their chances of a medal by failing to reach their finals, Neave perhaps represents Britain's best chance of a medal in the event.
Despite only finishing tenth in the European championships earlier this year, she showed form during the heats on Monday, finishing fourth in the first and then second in her final run.
In the two-man canoe, Florence and Hounslow will be looking to atone for their poor showing in their respective singles events.
But a gold medal is unlikely given the competition also features the Slovakian brothers Peter and Pavol Hochschorner, who have dominated the event for more than a decade and won gold in Sydney, Athens and Beijing.
Team GB also have Tim Baillie and Etienne Stott in the second boat.
